Plant family: Caryophyllaceae
Italian name: Carnation
Care:
The purchase of fresh flowers, pre-treated by the floriculturist, guarantees a longer duration.
Use a clean pot with tap water (at room temperature).
Adding the cut flower preservative (Chrysal, Floralife) to the water extends the shelf life.
Shorten the stems 3-5 cm with an oblique cut using a knife or sharp scissors.
Avoid letting the leaves come into contact with water.
Avoid exposure of flowers to drafts, full sun and radiators.
Regularly add tap water to the jar.
Keep the flowers away from the fruit basket. The fruit emits ethylene gas, which accelerates the aging process of the flowers.
In floral works: wet the sponge well and also add the preservative (Chrysal, Floralife) to the water.
Nourishment:
This flower is pretreated by the floriculturist with STS, which reduces the sensitivity to ethylene (the process of maturation and aging). It prevents premature wilting and the fall of buds, leaves and flowers and prolongs the duration.
