Spathiphyllum is an indoor plant characterized by long, generally lanceolate leaves. If grown in the right conditions it produces "modified" white leaves, called spathe.
This feature, in addition to a certain ease of cultivation and fast growth, makes it one of the most common plants in apartments.
It is also ideal for those who want to approach the world of greenery for the first time.
Abroad, it is also known as "peace lily" or "moon flower". It is spontaneous in areas characterized by hot and humid climates, since most of the varieties come from the forests of Central and South America.
Throughout the year, water regularly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between one watering and another. In nature Spathiphyllums grow on the edges of ponds and streams; however, it is advisable to avoid watering the specimens grown in pots excessively. Every 25-30 days, supply fertilizer for flowering plants, in half the amount recommended on the package.
An excellent method for watering this type of plants is by immersion: it will be sufficient to fill the sink in half and insert the pot, leaving it for about 10 minutes. Finally, the water is run off and the excess water is drained for a while before placing the plant back in its initial position.
